The Council Board members and officers meet at various locations at 9:30 a.m. on the first Monday of each month, excluding December, February and August. Installation of new officers is held in March.
All CRG members are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings. Please contact us for the next time and location.

Plantaholics will host the 3rd annual FALL FROLIC event held on Tuesday, Sept 24th again at the GRANGETTE BARN, Belvidere, IL.

CRG hosted its 2nd annual FALL FROLIC event on Tuesday, Sept 12th at the GRANGETTE BARN, Belvidere, IL.
All CRG members and a guest (spouse, friend, relative) were invited for this Gathering of Clubs event. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks were brought by members. A special thank you to Mary Jo and Steve Hall for arranging the venue for us!

Each year we organize an event to include all 4 clubs. We have had a fall presentation on heirloom apples, a spring presentation at Gensler Gardens of new annuals, a summer Garden Party at the home of one of our members, and a night of Peace in the Garden.

At Council of Rockford Gardeners, we envision a community where gardening thrives and nature is cherished. Our programs focus on enhancing public spaces and encouraging sustainable practices.

It was a lovely gathering in Arch Smith’s Garden for members of all 5 clubs. Thank you, Arch!! (Click on photos to enlarge)
Annual fundraising events help support our Scholarship Fund and add to our monetary contributions to community gardening and other entities. Council has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships in the past 20 years. Click here to see list of scholarship winners.
Many hundreds of dollars annually go to community organizations/projects, and many man hours are donated to community gardens. Among those benefiting are City of Gardens, Midway Village Museum and Heritage Gardens, Rock Valley Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden, Natural Land Institute, Severson Dells, and Tinker Swiss Cottage.
Among the many contributions our clubs make to the community are planters given to the new homeowners of Habitat for Humanity.
